Anchor History
ANCHOR's history goes all the way back to 1929 when Litho Chemical (LithKemKo), a small but industrious chemical blending facility, was founded. LithKemKo was the first company to produce and package a commercial fountain solution. By the mid 1930s, LithKemKo had grown into one of the leading producers of deep etch and wipe-on plate chemicals.
Anchor Chemical Company was founded in 1935. Specializing in safer, more environmentally friendly pressroom chemistry, Anchor's business quickly flourished.

In 1978 the two companies merged into Anchor/LithKemKo, based in New York (Lynbrook and Hicksville). Due to steady growth, the company moved its manufacturing facility to Orange Park, Florida, in 1983.
Anchor/LithKemKo focused on becoming the leading pressroom chemical supplier in the world. The logo was changed and the company became known as ANCHOR. ANCHOR concentrated on research and development, technical support and customer service all of which are unparalleled in the industry! A growing market share and several mergers and acquisitions led to the need to expand production, storage and shipping.

In 1998, ANCHOR was acquired by Fuji Hunt (now FUJIFILM Europe NV), part of the FUJIFILM Corporation in Japan. Since then, the ANCHOR products for the European market are produced by FUJIFILM Hunt Chemicals Europe in Belgium, next to Fuji Hunt branded and Solco branded products.
